From Punk Rock to Drum & Bass: Meet Jey Cordz

From punk rock guitarist to Drum & Bass producer. Get to know the artist behind our upcoming release as Jey Cordz shares his journey, inspirations and goals for the future.

Meet Jey Cordz
With his first release on sounds2feel Records, it's the perfect time to introduce you to the artist behind the music. Listening to Jey Cordz today, you probably wouldn't guess that his musical journey originally began in a punk rock band.

As the band's lead guitarist, he gained his first experience as a musician before deciding to carve out his own path in 2020 and dive into the world of electronic music.
"I was heavily inspired by artists like Alan Walker, Avicii, Kygo and many more. I started out producing Future Bass and Dance Pop, later experimented with Trap and Dubstep, and over the years I discovered my true passion for Bass Music. That's how I found the sound I create today."

Today, Jey Cordz blends a wide range of influences into his productions. Electronic elements meet live instruments, different genres merge together, and his own guitar playing gives every track a unique signature.
"My sound is all about blending different instruments and even different genres. I always try to find interesting combinations that work well together. Since I often record my own guitar, that's what gives my music its personal touch."

"Underdog" - Pre-Save

Most of his inspiration comes from artists he truly admires. Once he opens a new project, ideas start flowing almost instantly and gradually evolve into a finished track.
But behind every release lies far more work than most people realize. For Jey Cordz, music production has never been a sprint. It's a marathon.
"The biggest challenge is staying consistent and actually finishing your tracks. It's a long journey with lots of obstacles, but also incredibly rewarding experiences, especially when you're creating something amazing together with other artists."

The toughest moments often become the most important ones.
"There are days, weeks or even months where nothing seems to happen and you start questioning what you're even doing. Those are exactly the moments when you need to keep going, because your next milestone might be closer than you think."

Interestingly, he doesn't follow a strict studio routine. Instead, his goal is simply to make progress every single day, no matter how small.
"I try to work on music every day, even if it's just one percent. Usually I'm sitting in the studio with a coffee or a soft drink, working step by step on the next track."

Despite all the technical aspects of music production, Jey Cordz never loses sight of what really matters. His music is meant to inspire, motivate and help people through difficult times.
"I want my music to help people through difficult times and encourage them to become the best version of themselves. I want it to inspire people to chase their dreams and remind them that anything is possible."

Looking ahead, his goals are clear: grow as a DJ, continue refining his sound, build his place within the industry and eventually release on a major label.

One thing many people don't know about Jey Cordz is that his roots are actually in the metal and rock scene.
"Starting my EDM journey in 2020 felt like completing a circle that began in my childhood and opening a whole new chapter for my future."

One thing is certain: he's only getting started.
"Expect lots of energetic new music, hopefully my first coaching program soon, and of course many more DJ gigs!"
