Cainah speaks about the story behind her new release “I Remain”
Some songs are created from inspiration.
Others are created from emotions that are difficult to put into words.

With “I Remain”, Cainah releases one of her most personal tracks so far. The emotional Drum & Bass record combines melancholic atmosphere, quiet depth and hopeful moments into a journey through loss, healing and inner peace.

The title itself was born from a deeply personal experience:
“I Remain was created during a time when I had to learn how to deal with loss. I lost two family members within a short period and because my family is quite small, it felt like I was the one left behind.”

But the title is not only about grief or loneliness.
“The title reflects that feeling, but also strength and gratitude. I miss my family a lot, but I’m thankful for the time we had and for the people who are with me today: Friends who feel like family.”

That same contrast can also be heard throughout the music itself.
“The track carries a mix of sadness and hope. It’s melancholic and dreamy, but still calming in its own way. Kind of like a quiet moment after a storm.”

“I Remain” was written while Cainah was processing the loss of her grandfather. During that time, music became a way to express emotions when words alone were no longer enough.
“Music helps me let emotions out when words don’t come easily. I Remain came from exactly that moment and helped me deal with everything that was happening.”

Because of that emotional connection, releasing the song was not easy for her.
“The hardest part was letting the song go. Because it means so much to me, it wasn’t easy to share it with the world. I took my time finishing it, maybe because I wanted every detail to feel honest. But that’s also what makes it special to me.”

With “I Remain”, Cainah hopes to give listeners a moment to slow down, reflect and simply feel.
“I hope the track gives listeners a bit of space to switch off, think, or just feel. If someone pauses for a moment, drifts away or feels understood while listening, then the song has done what it was meant to do.”

Looking ahead, Cainah wants to continue exploring different sides of Drum & Bass:
“Definitely more Drum & Bass. Sometimes deep, sometimes techy, sometimes liquid. I love exploring different sides of the genre, but this direction feels the most natural to me.”

For us as a label, it is a special honor to support Cainah with such a personal release and give this honest piece of music a platform.

“Cainah - I Remain” will be released on July 10th, 2026 via sounds2feel Records.
