Cainah & SYLNTGRN's “Illumination EP”

Who is Cainah?
Cainah is an emerging Drum & Bass DJ and producer from Germany, currently at the beginning of her creative journey. She has been DJing since 2022, streaming regularly on Twitch, playing a few live gigs and occasionally sharing DJ sets on YouTube. In 2024, she began producing her own music, shaping a sound best described as deep, dark, and liquid Drum & Bass.

Approaching each project as a learning experience, Cainah embraces growth, experimentation and the challenge of turning ideas into sound, even when technical skills are still evolving. Motivated by collaboration and creative exchange, she focuses on developing a personal musical identity shaped by emotion, atmosphere, and contrast. The goal is to create music with depth, not just to release tracks, but to connect with listeners and share moments that feel honest and meaningful.

Next Friday, sounds2feel Records welcomes a release that lives somewhere between light and shadow. With the “Illumination EP”, Cainah and SYLNTGRN invite listeners into a world inspired by moonlight, contrasts, and everything that comes with learning and creating music together.

The EP consists of four tracks - In The Moonlight, Moon Phases, Your Light, and Always Sunset - each telling its own story while contributing to a central theme: the beauty that emerges when brightness and darkness coexist. This idea is reflected not only in the music itself, but also in the artwork and the naming of each track.

In The Moonlight
This track truly earned its name. In The Moonlight was anything but smooth sailing during production. Cainah and SYLNTGRN found themselves in an ongoing back-and-forth, driven by impatience, ambition, and the challenge of translating ideas faster than their still-growing technical skills allowed. Add to that the classic producer dilemma “FL Studio on one side, Ableton on the other” and conflict was never far away.
Despite (or perhaps because of) these struggles, the track evolved through countless revisions into something both artists are genuinely proud of. A reminder that friction can sometimes be the spark that makes a song shine.

Moon Phases
Moon Phases is SYLNTGRN’s personal exploration of sound design as storytelling. The chord progression mirrors the waxing and waning of the moon itself, subtly shifting as the track unfolds. It’s a piece that invites close listening: Can you hear the exact moment where the phase changes?

Your Light
Created during a late-night session on Cainah’s birthday, “Your Light” has a playful, light-hearted feel, carried by a powerful 808 bass that gives the track its grounding and drive.

Always Sunset
The foundation of Always Sunset came from an unusual challenge. During a producer bootcamp with friends, Cainah and SYLNTGRN took part in a “mute challenge” - creating a track without hearing any sound until later. Surprisingly, this limitation led to the core structure of the song, proving once again that creativity often thrives under constraints.

With the Illumination EP, Cainah and SYLNTGRN share not only four tracks, but four moments of their journey as producers, filled with trial and error, experimentation, and discovery.
